Selective Color Correction

In the Color Editor tool (Basic tab) you can do selective color correction for all of the six main colors in the hue circle (R,G,B,C,M and Y)
Additionally you can add a global “Hue” and “Saturation” correction.
When you add saturation to a selected color it’s applied as a “Smart” saturation, e.g. like the Saturation slider in Exposure tool but only for the selected color range (hue slice). Smart saturation makes it easy to add saturation to a selected color without over-saturating any color within that color selection.
Example 1: Selective color correction with the Color Editor
Example 2: Selective color correction with the Color Editor
Use the picker to pick the color you want to change.
Example 3: The selected color is between two colors
The selected color in the blue sky falls almost in-between the cyan and blue color slice. Drag the intersection line between the 2 colors to insure that the selected color falls safely inside the cyan hue slice. In the example the color of the blue sky has been boosted by setting Saturation to 80% and Lightness to -10.

thanks professor! could you help me to find a way to have the same effect of “custom target color” in capture one 3? it was perfect to add a touch of color in the shadows and highlights, the actually “curve” tool doesn’t allow to move the bottom and the top of the curve in the same way as before.
thanks again!

good article, could you describe in Your next entry technique for obtaining uniform skin color ?
Hi! Is there any other masking option in capture one where i can tell the program which areas of the picture i’d like to work with?
don’t go there. photoshop is the only true way unless you’re working with really basic edges. I can help you with this if you’re struggling.
