Wonder if I can still keep Capture One Pro 6 while testing 7??
You can still keep Capture One 6 while you are testing Capture One Pro 7. If you are working on a Mac, you need to rename Capture One 6 before you instal the trial version of Capture One Pro 7 to avoid file confusion.

Just noticed the keyboard shortcuts for sorting is bugged…doesn’t have the list of sorting options available to customized. Looks like it was overlooked. Please remedy. I use sorting shortcuts all the time during shoots.

Version 7 sees some very welcome additions to the editing capabilities the likes of gradient masks and opacity. For that I find it a worthwhile upgrade.
Also to be applauded is the introduction of serious DAM capabilities, although I must admit that the meaning of “projects” at present is beyond me. Moreover, must we really import images to work with them by way of the catalog?
Also, the catalog seems to implement an iron curtain between itself and the OS filing system. No drag-and-drop of files for editing, no way to move cataloged files other than the rather clunky export option, and just to see the location of an image file you have to open up Explorer (Windows).
At present I’ll stick to my present, non-C1 DAM program, working C1 in session mode.
To sum up re. the DAM capabilities: A laudable first effort, with room for improvement.

It is our mission to allow the users of Capture One to custumize their workflow to suit their individual needs and that is one of the reasons why both Sessions and Catalogs are available.
